Bon Origins & Mythology
The True Path of Bon / oldest spiritual traditions in TibetBön means "the Truth". It is a spiritual tradition which originated (as oldest Bon texts mention) "in the land sorrouned by four waters" and brought to lands of Zanzig and ZhangZung in Tibet for preservation. According old manustricps the practices of Bon come from ancient culture, from eighteen tausend years ago. Those traditions were kept alive by families of Shen,Zhu, Pa, Me'u and Bru in Tibet until present time.
Bon mitology explains the origins of the whole universe as starting from pure potentiality, which is all and nothing in the same time. Similar as other ancient cultures, as well in Bon is stated, that from the source get emanated basic forces called elements (fire, earth, air, water and space) from which all and everything is build on subtle level. On the next level of creation a deity Belchen Kékhö is born from and "egg" of universe. With him get emanated other Kekho deities in number of 360. They would be leading and protective forces of each day of a year.
Trigyel Kugpa in form of Shenlha Okar, emanated from all potentiality two deities, which represent dark and light forces. Öserden is deity of goodness, Nyelwa Nakpo is a deity representing a dark realm.
In the path of Bon you learn to see the true realm. You get free from ilussions which attaching you to the non-existing problems. When fully awaken to the realm as it is, you become so called "a rainbow body" and do not stay in physical form any more.
Home of Bon Deities is mountain Kailash, secret for all spiritual path in Nepal and Tibet. No human beings is aloud to claim the holy mountain as its believed to be possesed by the highest Deity of creation of our realm. From Tise mountain four rivers starts: Brahmaputra, Indus , Karnali/Ghaghara, Sutlej. They represent Lion, Peacock, Elephant and Horse. Bonpos, Shamans, Buddhist and Hindu practitioners pilgrim to the mount Tise at least one in life, to show respect and gratitude to Deities. Life for those people is not just what we see as material manifestation of ourselfs and reality. There is transcendent aspect of our existence, which practitioners of old ways understand and appreciate.
Bon practitioners, amoung many skills, specialize in guarding against demonic forces. This make Bon practice very valuable; especially that such influnces manifest as "mental diseases". Western psychology and psychiartry - without proper recognision of it's nature, cannot heal it. In traditional Bon practice and tibetan medicine there are ways to diagnose demonic influences ad well ways of healing it. The most powerful old practice against demonic influences, which we experience as jelousy, hatred and ignorance - is Losar.
